Bannockburn’s Historic Halloween
27 Oct 2015
Head to the award-winning Battle of Bannockburn experience in Stirling on 31 October and 1 November for an Halloween event which takes its inspiration from medieval days.
The Battle of Bannockburn was one of the key events in Scotland’s history and was a bloody and terrifying battle.
The National Trust for Scotland team have put together a suitably spooky event programme that takes its inspiration from the site’s gruesome history.
Scary battlefield ghosts will be commanding the frightening fun – come in fancy dress for traditional Halloween games like dooking for apples.
And of course, the stunning 3D visitor experience will be open all weekend for those looking to get first-hand experience of medieval battle, an experience that is not for the faint-hearted.
Opened in 2014, the Battle of Bannockburn experience is the first heritage centre in the world using Hollywood-calibre motion capture to immerse visitors in a realistic and historically accurate 3D medieval battle.
Since opening, the site has won a number of awards and accolades, including the prestigious ‘best visitor experience’ from the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions awards.
The Battle of Bannockburn experience was supported by the Scottish Government and the Heritage Lottery Fund. It’s open all year round, seven days a week – book tickets at www.battleofbannockburn.com.
