Bannockburn Lecture Series Launched

The Battle of Bannockburn are proud to announce the launch of a series of talks from some of Scotland’s leading historians. Members of our academic panel will be giving talks at the centre on subjects relating to the battle and the wider Scottish wars of independence.

Starting this October the lectures are already exciting staff at the centre. With a range of topics covered by THE experts the series will a fantastic opportunity whether you are a local with a mild interest, a student or professional historian.

We are blessed at Bannockburn to have such a great relationship with our academic panel who contributed so much work to the interpretation of the battle and it’s events at the new centre. Learning is a vital part of the work we do and we hope to deliver many opportunities like this in the future.

The lectures will all take place in the new Battle of Bannockburn centre at a cost of £5 a ticket. Refreshments will be available but not included within the ticket price. Tickets are available both online and through the centre. 

21st October - Dr. Michael Penman  "Commemorating Bannockburn 1814-1914"

24th November - Prof. Richard Oram "Scotland and the Four Horseman: War, Famine, Disease and Death in the Age of Wallace and Bruce"

30th November- Dr. Fiona Watson "King Edward I and the Conquest of Scotland"
