Facilities and accessibility

For visitors with special access requirements, please call 01786 812 664 to book tickets.

Getting around

Navigating around the visitor centre is mainly via level pathways, except for the viewing gallery in the Battle Room which is accessed via a ramp. Visitors should expect to be on their feet most of the time when touring the main exhibition; a visit lasts approximately 90 minutes.

For safety reasons and in line with fire evacuation restrictions we can only accept 10 wheelchair users into the Battle Room at any one time.

Accessible parking

There is designated accessible parking.

Wheelchair hire

Unfortunately, at the present time the Battle of Bannockburn is not able to offer wheelchairs for private hire.

Male and female toilets as well as an accessible toilet are located in the reception area. Please use them before entering the attraction.

Helpers and carers

A helper or carer is welcome to accompany a disabled visitor without charge. When booking online please select ‘carer’ from the ‘Pass type’ section.

Visually impaired guests

There will be low light levels, as in a cinema, and those with serious visual impairments may have difficulty navigating around the facility. Severely visually impaired visitors will require a chaperone.

3D glasses will be provided along with your ticket on entry. You will need these for some, but not all of the displays.

The attraction includes a variety of tactile exhibits including replica weapons, armour and clothing.

Hearing impaired guests

The Battle of Bannockburn is largely delivered via audiovisual displays. Therefore, guests with hearing difficulties may use the induction loop system throughout. An audio described tour of the attraction in English is available on request.
